We are camped here at the 3 Dreamers RV Park. We next to Larry's sister and husband. We have been here for almost two weeks and enjoying the warm sunshine and the company. We have met some pretty great people. Joe is an American Indian and can tell you about yourself by your name. He told me I was a warm and welcoming person and in my youth I had big big dreams for my life. Indeed, I did. I wanted to be the best wife and mother in the world. Life has a way of knocking the wind out of your sails when you grow older and realize how very fallable you were. Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ helps to make sense of all the mistakes I have made in my life. I am so grateful for the Atonement of the Lord. It brings me to my knees and keeps me humble and seeking His presence in my life every day.
Joe's wife Katey is an angel and I love being around both of them. Everyone is so welcoming and genuine. We are planning on going down to Fortuna, AZ., to Bud's place and parking the RV and staying there until we head for home. We are planning on leaving the last week in February. Stopping to see Jill and the kids to share Christmas with them. We spent Christmas with Russell and Erin and the boys and were parked on their property. we had electricity, tv and water. It was wonderful there in Chico. Such a beautiful place. Tons of Almond orchards and more country than city. We went on to Lake Elsinore, Ca. and spent with Shelley, Barry and Ryli and time with Calvin and family. It was a great few days. I got to spend some shopping time with Shelley and one day with Shelley and Ryli. It was wonderful cause I have missed those times with Shelley.
Since being in Quartzite we have had dinner and breakfast with Ron and Mary Aames. As always the food was incredible. For breakfast Ron ground his wheat and made waffles. So darn good and light. We have played a card game called baseball with them and it was so much fun. We really enjoy being with Ron and Mary.
David and Kris came to stay with us 3 days. We went to Yuma and shopped at the swap meet one day. We went to the booths here in Quartzite and spent a day. We went to a jam every night and really had a ball. The one in Desert Gold was a Gospel one and it was one of the best I have every been too. The Missionary sang at two of them. He sang,"How Great Thou Art". His voice was very good but he lost his beat a couple of times so the second time he sang I lead the time for him and he appreciated it. It was done covertly and I didn't know if he saw what I was doing. The Missionary couple came to Ron's house and when he found out the Larry was not a member of the Church he said, "Let's go find the water." We all laughed and Larry seemed to enjoy the sweet attention and love that was given.
The jams we get to go to really make the trip down here fun. Kris really enjoyed them and we had such a good time. We went to dinner with a group here to the Kofa Cafe and had all you can eat spagetti. We went the week to the same cafe and had ribs that were out of this world. We have had Geneva and Gerald over for dinner. I fixed Beef Stronganoff and it was incredible. The RV is just right for Larry and I but getting another couple sleeping here makes it very crowded. No where to put suitcases. But for a few days it was fine. It was good to spend time with David and get to listen to many things about my childhood that I had forgotten or did not even remember. He remembers so much more than I do.
Well, it is Sunday and we got up at 7 to shower and get ready for Church. We have to leave 45 miniutes early as it is about 25 minutes into Quartzite. But we got there and this week the schedule was changed with Sacrament meeting last and so we just came home. Lunch with Larry's sisters at the Quail Restaurant at 11:30. We haven't seen Patty and Gary as they have been in San Diego with Gary's sister who is dying of cancer. Will write more later.
