Well, here we are in mid-September. Where did the Summer go? We are home for a couple of months and then will spend the Winter where it is warmer. We went to Donnelly, Idaho for Labor day. The RV Park we stayed in had hook-ups so we did get to watch Boise States first game. They won but didn't look that great. But last night they beat Miami of Ohio with a sound 48 to nothing score. It was an incredible game and I even started to feel sorry for Miami. We had a barbeque with Nancy, Justin and his daughter, Serenity. Rodney also came over and ate with us. Serenity is 4 and begged Great Gramma Marks to teach her to play the piano. So I finally gave in as I had told her she needed to learn to read first and then we could start to learn the piano. She went in the house as we were all in the back yard and about 5 minutes later she came out and said, Gramma, I learned how to read. Now, how could I not go in and give her on lesson. She was all ears for 30 seconds and then she proceeded to play her own version of twinkle, twinkle and looked up at me and said, "Was that great gramma," to which I replied it was wonderful honey. Not one note was right but her little fingers flew over the piano like a pro. That was all she wanted. It was so sweet to have a little one here again.
We have been to two of Luke Marks football games. Two nights ago they beat Fruitland and it was one of the best football games I have ever seen. Including pro games. Rodney and Danielle drove over with us and we stopped in Sand Hollow for dinner. It was fun to be with them. The game was in Oregon and it is about a 35 to 40 minute drive from our home.
Church was really good today. We had a missionary farewell and this Dalton Whiting is going to be a super missionary. He is going to Little Rock. They do an interesting thing when we have a missionary go out in our ward. They bring all the Aaronic Priesthood and the leaders and the Bishopric up to sing, "Called to Serve." It is a great custom and of course havng sent 3 missionaries out from my home, I was close to tears as they sang it. But I thought what a great thing to do.
I cut out a dress last night and will make it tomorrow. I like sewing and now have the time to do it. I still need to get quilts made and keep putting it off. I am taking my machine when we leave for the Winter and will do them then.
Thursday evening Norma and Darwin came and we all drove over to Boise for the annual Salmon Feed. It was soo darn good. I was in Heaven as I just love Salmon. It was nice to not have to cook dinner. Then we drove home and sat in the backyard with the mister on and it was such a nice night. We are planning a month trip next year with Norma and Darwin to go to Corde' Alene for a month and live on our boats. It doesn't look like we will find the time this year.
We are going to Nebraska to Steve and Natalie's for Thanksgiving. Then on to Colorado to visit Mitchell. Justin is thinking of going with us. We won't take the RV but just stay with family.
I just opted out of the Ornament Club in Springville. I will probably start one here next year. I will miss the Club and the friends there in Springville. I have started 2 clubs now and they are always a hit. I just love Christmas time and this club always starts off the season.
