Here it is Monday night and Larry and I have just finished watching 24 together and I love the show. It was a two hour one tonight and so fast moving and good. Anyway, it has been a wonderful few weeks. Larry took me to a Boise Philharmonic Evening. It was a entitled "An Evening in Vienna." It was so lovely and we dressed up and it was a wonderful evening out. They had a guest Violinist and she was absolutely incredible. All I could think of was Jill could be standing there.
We also have gone to a play with Norma and Darwin. It was called, "Open House." It was so funny and we had a great time. We went to dinner with them before to an Italian Restaurant.
Bud and Sonja will be here this week from St. Maries up by Coeur D Alene, Idaho. We spent a few days with them on our trip about 3 weeks ago. They have an incredible home near the lake and it was just beautiful there. One of their Grandsons is in Baseball playoffs this week and so they will bring their RV and park in our yard and some of their kids will stay here with us and in our RV. It will be fun. I really love them. When we were leaving their house, Bud put his arm around me and told everyone I was a keeper. He is definitely on my list of great people. hahaha
We have been working in the yard and it is beginning to look pretty good. As soon as we can get some plants we will be planting. We just finished cleaning out rock gardens and leaves beneath a hedge. Lots of work as Larry has not been here for over a year. He was working in Yellowstone and so the guys cutting the lawn didn't do anything to keep up on the leaves and things. So we still have a lot of work ahead of us but it is nice to work along side of Larry and see things look nicer every day we get to work in the yard.
Larry and Darwin have gone Snowmobiling the last two Thursdays and Larry said it is so beautiful up there. Today it was in the 60's and a nice day to work in the yard. The only drawback was the wind. We would get leaves gathered up and the wind would blow some of them away. But we got most of them in bags and ready for the garbage man tomorrow. As had a toilet out there last week and we will have another one tomorrow. I think he hates us. We have just finished both bathrooms. New floors and new toilets and a new sink in our master bath. It is one I bought at Real Deals and it looks so nice in our bathroom. Larry had to have a new type faucet and you can see the water come out from the top of it. He is quite thrilled with it. I just have to laugh at him.
We will be leaving on the 12th of March to go to the Yellowstone Expo. We will drive with Darwin and Norma and take our snowmobiles. It should be a lot of fun. Larry just bought me a new coat to go. He already had the snowpants I needed and the boots and we bought new gloves while we were at Quartzite. The first time I went snowmobiling it was awesome as I never got cold. It was incredible on the trip as we travelled about 20 miles into the mountains and stopped for lunch. We put food in a pan on the exhaust and when we are ready to eat it is hot and yummy. Where we were was so pristine and white and quiet. It was such an incredible site to be where no one else was.
On our trip to Coeur D Alene we stopped there in the city and had a tour and stopped at a little market. It was so lovely in the city. We then went on to College Place, Washington and visited with Larry's Mother In Law. She is Judy's mom (Larry's wife that died). I really got looked over and interrigated by one of Judy's sisters but in the end she also said she was so happy that Larry got a good wife. We had homemade soup at Mom Harvey's and visited with a sister and her husband and son and Mom Harvey for a long time. I was very blessed to meet this great lady. She is 92 and she taught me how to make a new quilt. I am so excited about it as I need to make one for one of my grandsons.
We left Mom Harvey's about 9 pm and drove Pendleton, Oregon and stayed there that night. We stopped at the Pendleton outlet and man I nearly went crazy wanting some of their clothes and blankets and so many other things. I did get some great wool material to make a blanket out of and I am going to use the pattern that mom Harvey sent to me. I also got a nice sweater and Larry got a swede jacket for about 90% off. We had a ball and I am dying to take my girls there. It is only a days drive from home but we will go again and stay one night. Darwin and Norma are talking about going with us. When we left Pendleton we went to Baker, Oregon and had Lunch at Geiser Grand Hotel. It was an old and refurbished hotel. Much like the hotel Utah. Absolutely gorgeous inside and elegant. We really had a great luch and I took pictures of the inside that I will post as soon as I remember how to do it.
Last Week we went on a Chili Cookout with Norma and Darwin. We drove to a dock not to far from home about 20 minutes and then we all got in Darwin's boat and went down river to a place to sample everyones chili. I made ours and it was pretty good. Still don't know who took first place. I told Darwin if I won he had to plan next years cookoff. The boatride was so great. Darwins boat is a jet river boat and we went through some hairy rapids and had to follow a leader as there were some heavy duty rocks in some of the river. Darwin has hit one and I don't think he wanted to do that again. It was warm and toasty in the boat but cold and windy and not a really good day to have a chili cookoff. We enjoyed the sampling and then got back on our boats and headed for home. There were about 42 boats in all. It was a great time and good people.
I am having some great experiences and we are just enjoying being together. Life just doesn't get much better than this. Watching Larry ride his snowmobile is awesome. He is great at any outdoor things. I am looking forward to the 4 X 4 jeep club outing in May. We are going to Moab Utah and will spend a week there. I think we have things planned for every month up until July. Larry is very active and he keeps me young.
Life is good and I am so grateful for a wonderful husband who loves me and tells me many times a day. I keep wondering if I will wake up and find that I have only been dreaming. Life it good!
